I'm looking for a coffeehouse where some folks can meet to hang out and knit or crochet. Not a Starbuck's, a mom-and-pop place would be fine. It doesn't have to be a coffeehouse either actually, but casual enough to not have to be rented (except by price of a coffee).
Oakland/Berkeley preferred though as far south as Castro Valley would be considered.

Re: Where to knit/crochet?
Fri, January 18, 2008 - 9:29 PMWednesday nights from 6-8pm at Cafe Trieste on Dwight and San Pablo.
Everyone who meets there is very friendly and welcoming; it's a good group! I know Cafe Trieste isn't "mom and pop", but it's not Starbucks and the staff is nice.
You don't have to pay a rent, although buying a little something is nice. :o)
I know there are many many knit/crochet groups around the whole Bay Area, so hopefully you find one you like. -

Re: Where to knit/crochet?
Sun, January 20, 2008 - 9:06 AMIt's a group that's already established on Thursday nights, but the coffeehouse's hours have become erratic and the group hasn't had a home for a month. Hence, the need for a new place. I wonder how Cafe Trieste would feel about having knitters twice a week? -
